Synergy is a devoted contributor to the Dayton community through its volunteering and philanthropy efforts. As a company we understand the importance and obligation of giving back that comes with being a leader in the community. This way of thinking is best displayed by the following illustrations:

  • Owner Bob Mills was the recipient of the National 2010 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man of The Year award. This competition recognizes the man and woman who raises the most money for Leukemia and Lymphoma cancer research in the United States.
  • Bob was also awarded with the Dayton Business Journal’s Philanthropist of the year in 2008 for his leadership in numerous Dayton area fundraisers.
  • Also, as a company, Synergy regularly donates a portion of its profits along with materials and labor to help benefit worthy construction projects in the Dayton area including, Michael’s House Child Advocacy Center, the Mills Family Lounge at Dayton Children’s Hospital, Mills-Morgan Pavilion on Wright State University’s campus, and Grace Crossing Church.
  • Synergy’s associates volunteer on over 15 area boards benefiting both local businesses and non-for-profits in the Dayton community.

The Gala of Hope Foundation was founded in 2012 by Barbara and Bob Mills. As both of their lives had been touched by the tragedy of cancer, they sought a way to make a difference...in their community.

“Inspired by his eight year old granddaughter, Ally Barnett, and her heroic battle against acute lymphocytic leukemia, Bob Mills organized a campaign to compete against over 640 other fundraisers to be The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2010 National Man of the Year — and he won!”
